About Gerry

Gerry Cates is a West Texas native and earned his BS Degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 1975. Gerry Cates began Texas Range Minerals in 1993 after 20 years’ of ranching experience as a camp man, foreman, and manager. He first took interest in cattle mineral supplementation when working on the Faudree Ranch, Midland and Ector Counties of West Texas. His goal was to find the best source of phosphorus for West Texas beef cows grazing forages excessively high in calcium. After formulating minerals on three different ranches he experienced notable results and formed TRM, in 2001. TRM was issued a U.S. Patent on the basic formula parameters.
