Whether running a cow calf operation or a stocker operation, cattle nutrition plays a vital role.   Part of good livestock nutrition is providing your cattle a well balanced mineral supplement.   Mineral supplements contain varying levels of macro-minerals and micro-minerals.

Macro Minerals

Macro minerals are ones that are provided as a percentage of a mineral formula.  Calcium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium, and Sulfur are all examples of Macro minerals.

Micro Minerals

Micro minerals are ones that are provided as PPM (Parts Per Million).  Cobalt, Copper, Iodine, Manganese, Selenium,  and Zinc are examples of micro minerals.   Texas Range Minerals determines the levels of these minerals in our mixes by first determining what is deficient in the forage.   We then formulate a mineral mix to supplement only the minerals missing in the forage and thereby boosting the nutrition for cattle on that forage.
